On the morning of January 10, 2019, the National Science and Technology Award Conference (NSTAC) was held in Beijing. The project, “Key Technology of Accurate Identification and Detection of Typical Chemical Pollutants in Agricultural Products,” in which Jin Maojun, a talent born in Jinhua, participated, won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award.

Jin Maojun, a scientist who grew up in the village of Liantang, Jiangdong Town, Jindong District, is currently a researcher and PhD supervisor at the Institute of Quality Standards and Testing Technology for Agro-Products of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Jin explained, I participated in this project when I joined the institute. The object of our research is the typical chemical pollutants in edible agricultural products, like pesticide residues, veterinary drug residues, mycotoxins. After more than 10 years of research, we have developed a series of precise detection technologies and standards covering sample pre-processing, rapid detection, and confirmatory testing, which have been widely used in Chinas agricultural product quality and safety supervision.” (By Wang Jiang  Jinhua Daily, translated by Shen Yingying, edited by Mariam Ayad)
