On July 21, a research group from Zhejiang E-Commerce Promotion Center released a series of ranking lists related to livestreaming e-commerce for the first half of 2020. Zhejiang ranks 2nd among the national top 20 livestreaming e-commerce provinces and province-level municipalities, and Jinhua ranks 8th among the national top 20 livestreaming e-commerce cities, the number of its e-commerce livestreamers second only to that of Hangzhou in Zhejiang.

The COVID-19 pandemic has served as a catalyst for new business formats, new scenarios, and new opportunities such as network economy and virtual economy, among which “social influencer marketing is one of the highlights.

The rankings are made based on many indicators, including the number of fans, sales volume, and livestreamer activity. Among the top 10 livestreaming e-commerce cities, there are first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and provincial capital cities such as Chengdu and Zhengzhou. Jinhua ranks 8th as a prefecture-level city, with more than 1,000 successful e-commerce livestreamers, the number of which is comparable to those of Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Zhengzhou.
