On November 18, Huang Jianfa, the deputy secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee visited Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU) for a routine inquiry.

At the Institute of African Studies at ZJNU (IASZNU), Huang Jianfa learned more about the exhibits collected in the museum. He listened to an introduction on the development history of the IASZNU, as well as the high-quality promotion of exchanges and cooperation with Africa.

Huang Jianfa stressed that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has placed education, science and technology, and talents as the basic and strategic support for advancement. This elevates them to a prominent position for integrated deployment and promotion. Colleges and universities are the junction of productivity and science and technology, the first resource of talents, and the first driving force of innovation. We should thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and adhere to the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents. In this way we can comprehensively implement the strategy of strengthening the province through education, resolutely implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating talents and strive to promote the construction of high-level universities with high-level disciplines. This will provide strategic support for Zhejiang’s policy of two priorities.

Liu Hongwu, President of the African Research Institute of Zhejiang Normal University, gave an introduction on the institute. President Liu said that the African Museum is not only a place to display African history and culture, but also an activity area for the people of China and Africa to enhance understanding and promote the mutual learning and appreciation of varied civilizations.

During the school survey, Huang Jianfa successively went to the School of Humanities, School of Mathematics and Science, School of Teacher Education, and School of Engineering at ZJNU. Huang Jianfa sought to learn more about the discipline construction, talent training, international exchange, cooperation, social services, and other aspects of the school.
