On December 14, several excavators were busy with construction near the Huangshanzhuang Community in Hengdian Town of Dongyang City. Engineering vehicles shuttled back and forth to transport earth and stone, and the beginnings of the semicircular tunnel portal at the foot of the mountain emerged. Since the commencement on September 1, the double track project of the Hengdian Film Television Avenue Tunnel has nearly completed the preliminary work and is about to enter the blasting stage.

The project runs in a north-south direction starting from the Jiangnan Second Road in the north and ending at the National Defense Road in the south. The route is 1261 meters in length and 15.5 meters in width. The tunnel for the road is 690 meters in length and is 11.75 meters in width. The road surface is constructed with the standard urban trunk road with a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour. It is expected to be completed in 2024.

While ensuring smooth inner road traffic, Hengdian Town also actively seeks smooth outer traffic and constantly improves the three-dimensional transportation network. The original Zhuyong Expressway together with the Jinyidong Rail Transit, the Hangzhou Wenzhou High speed Railway, and the Hengdian General Airport will realize the simultaneous availability of highway, railway, and airport travel after construction is completed.

Hengdian is an important part of Dongyang’s development. It is a leading demonstration area and an important growth center for high-quality development in Dongyang.
