On January 31, a ceremony for the commencement of the construction of the Wuyi College of Jinhua Polytechnic kicked off at the project site.
The Wuyi College of Jinhua Polytechnic will be located in the plot south of Yingxiang Road, east of Huanglong First Road, north of Huanglong Reservoir, and west of the Second Ring West Road in Wuyi County. The total investment of the project is 1.412 billion RMB, and the planned land area is about 500 mu. The planned number of full-time admitted students is 2000, and the college is planned to be put into operation in the autumn semester of 2025.
Wang Zhenhong, secretary of the Party Committee of Jinhua Polytechnic, said: “The Wuyi College of Jinhua Polytechnic will focus on the cultivation of high-quality technical talents, the development of high-quality local industrial clusters, and the construction of high-level regional vocational education groups. Aiming at integrated school administration and vocational skills training, Wuyi College will meet the needs of Wuyi’s regional development and industrial transformation, introduce high-quality resources into Wuyi for higher vocational education, and promote the substantive integration of production, education, research, training, and innovation.”
Wuyi College will mainly provide five-year full-time vocational education, integrating secondary school and higher vocational education, as well as three-year higher vocational education, providing vocational training in scientific and technological services.
Since the fall semester of 2022, Jinhua Polytechnic and Wuyi County Vocational and Technical School have jointly enrolled full-time students for the five-year full-time integrated vocational education program. After completion of the secondary school portion, Wuyi College will enroll the students in the three-year higher vocational education program that is compatible with Wuyi’s advantageous industries through various enrollment forms.
The design of the Wuyi College preserves the idyllic landscapes, creating a ravine based on original waterflows. The ravine connects the north and south reservoirs of the campus and runs along the dormitory area, the administration building of the library, the theater, and the teaching area at different elevations, forming beautiful scenery and providing students with a place to relax and find inspiration.
