Radial Route Network for Integrated Transportation Hub

发布时间: 2023-04-20

Jinhua’s transportation system is currently undergoing a significant transformation from a cross-shaped urban configuration to a radial route network. This change is necessary for Jinhua to fulfill its role as a high-level inland transportation hub, as mandated by the 15th Provincial Party Congress. Jinhua is committed to developing into an international hub and a metropolitan area that is both prosperous and modern. To achieve this goal, Jinhua is adopting an open layout, connecting the east, west, north, and south to construct a modern, globally connected logistics hub. The aim is to establish the Jinhua International Land Port Hub as a strategically significant hub for various transportation modes, using the ‘big channel, big hub’ approach. Jinhua is working towards constructing a comprehensive national transportation hub that features complete functions, three-dimensional interconnections, and seamless coordination between land and sea transportation.

Zhang Jianfeng, director of the Railway Group of the Municipal Hub Office, states that there are currently operational railways, railways under construction, and railway projects that have undergone preliminary research. The goal of the Jinhua municipal government is to construct a radial railway network with Jinhua as the center.

Jinhua is situated in the economically vibrant East China region, which is also a densely populated area with a well-established manufacturing industry. Railway hubs hold significant economic power in the region despite the numerous transportation options available. Expanding the Jinhua railway hub is a crucial step towards achieving economic coordination between the eastern coastal and western inland regions of China. The hub will serve as an economic bridge, strengthening ties between these two regions and promoting economic growth in both areas.

In the future, more trains will travel to and from Jinhua, making travel more convenient for residents. From the perspective of improving freight logistics capacity, the completion of the project will establish a dual-station model with Jinhua South Freight Yard, enhancing the capacity of the East China International Intermodal Hub. Efforts will be made to build a landmark dual-cycle strategic hub project as well as the East China regional assembly center for CRE trains. Moreover, the project will significantly improve the logistics and freight capacity of the railway in central Zhejiang. It will also streamline the collection and distribution system between coastal ports and inland regions.

According to a person in charge of the Construction Headquarters of Jinhua Railway Expansion and Transformation Project, the plan to expand and upgrade the Jinhua railway hub is making steady progress and constantly developing. It began with the idea of creating a rear channel to connect the Jinhua-Jiande High-Speed Railway with the Jinhua-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway. The plan then extended to the expansion of the Jinyi section of the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway and the East China International Intermodal Port, which provides space support for international logistics stations. Jinhua is starting to build an international hub, and this project is an important step towards making significant progress in a single action. Through gradual improvements in planning and the continuous expansion of its functions, this project will ultimately become the centerpiece of the city’s efforts to establish a comprehensive national transportation hub.
