On May 20, the Seminar on Chinese Modernization and African Development was held in the lecture hall of the Zhengyang Center at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU). He Hongyan, the Minister Counselor of the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ruan Ganghui, the Deputy Mayor of Jinhua Municipal People's Government, and Zhang Genfu, the Vice President of ZJNU attend the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

After the opening ceremony, the first lecture "China's Foreign Policy and China-Africa Relations" was presided over by Professor Liu Hongwu, the Dean of the African Institute (African Regional Institute), and He Hongyan. He Hongyan discussed China's foreign policy, its history, its current situation, and the future of China-Africa relations with the students.

The seminar was sponsored by the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and undertaken by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang, the People's Government of Jinhua City, and ZJNU.

5月20日，“中国式现代化与非洲发展”研修班在浙江师范大学正阳中心报告厅举行，外交部非洲司公使衔参赞贺红燕、金华市人民政府副市长阮刚辉、浙师大副校长张根福出席开班仪式并发表讲话。

开班仪式结束后，由非洲研究院（非洲区域国别学院）院长刘鸿武教授主持、外交部非洲司公使衔参赞贺红燕主讲的第一讲《中国外交政策与中非关系》开讲。贺红燕围绕中国外交政策，中非关系的历史、现状和未来等方面同学员们探讨交流。

本次研修班由中非合作论坛中方后续行动委员会秘书处主办，浙江省人民政府外事办公室、金华市人民政府、浙江师范大学承办。
