From July 29-30, the South African Cape Town Grand Theater Art Troupe visited Dongyang to deeply experience the cultural heritage of Dongyang City.

In the Hengdian Film and Television Culture Industry Exhibition Hall, members of the visiting group listened and watched to understand the development process of Hengdian’s film and television culture industry from scratch. The Huanyu Film and Television Art Center has collected and displayed more than 60,000 pieces of film and television costumes and accessories carefully crafted by intangible cultural heritage craftsmen. In the Dream Bund Resort, members of the delegation investigated the national night-life culture and tourism consumption clusters, watched performances, and finally praised Hengdian’s film and television industry and tourism development.

The delegation also visited the traditional town of Luzhai. On weekends, the town is a popular destination for tourists, thanks to the magnificent Ming and Qing dynasty architectural complexes, which present unique cultural heritage and architectural charm.

The delegation also visited the woodcarving town to learn about the development of Dongyang woodcarving, experience the heritage of woodcarving culture, and appreciate the long-lasting art of woodcarving. (By Wei Minhang—Dongyang Daily, English text edited by Kendra Fiddler)
